Engineering Support & Maintenance

Support for the systems your business already runs

Fix a specific issue, take over an existing system, or arrange ongoing maintenance.

ASCEND / BUSINESS EXPERIENCEILLUSTRATIVE
From diagnosis to ongoing care
Understand the issue

Symptoms, logs, existing environment

Fix & verify

Scoped changes, business-path checks

Handover & maintain

Change records, follow-up ownership

BUILT AROUND THE WORK

WHERE WE CAN HELP

Start with the issue or the gap in ownership

Describe what the system does, what is failing, recent changes and known constraints. We assess whether we can help, then agree the diagnosis, changes and verification. Keep passwords and access credentials out of the inquiry form.

  • A website, API or integration is failing
  • Servers need migration or maintenance
  • The previous team has left and you need a handover

Applications, APIs & integrations

Investigate broken workflows, API errors and third-party connections using versions, logs, permissions and dependencies.

Linux, Docker, Nginx & cloud servers

Diagnose services, reverse proxies, containers and resource issues; make scoped configuration changes and verify operation.

DNS, Cloudflare, SSL & migration

Troubleshoot resolution, proxy and certificate issues, plan site or domain cutovers and check access after the change.

Email authentication & delivery diagnosis

Review SPF, DKIM, DMARC, bounces and provider logs, with findings and follow-up checks.

Recovery assessment & system migration

Inspect backups, dependencies and recovery conditions before agreeing a restore exercise or migration plan.

Ongoing maintenance & system takeover

Inventory the existing environment and schedule dependency updates, security patches, backup checks and change records.

WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER

Choose the arrangement that fits the work

Agree the scope, access, priorities and cost before work starts.

One-off diagnosis & repair

Scope the investigation of a specific issue, then assess the fix and effort. If diagnosis reveals broader work, agree that next step separately.

Planned maintenance

Schedule updates, checks, backup verification and maintenance windows for agreed systems, with reviewable change records.

Ongoing support with agreed hours

Agree an allocation of hours, task priorities, support windows and communication. Additional hours or work outside the scope require a separate agreement.

Discuss a new support need

Need aftercare for an existing project? Use your agreed support channel or the existing customer support contact.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES & SCOPE

What the engineering covers

Choose methods to fit your existing equipment, systems and project requirements.

Release health & security maintenance

Maintain the agreed software and its operating dependencies with reviewable changes and clear rollback decisions.

  • Testing, release readiness checks and version rollback
  • Dependency and CVE response assessment, upgrades and change records
  • Metrics, logs and traces supporting incident investigation

Recovery, incident response & SLA terms

Agree what must be restored, who responds and how the business receives progress information during an incident.

  • Backup verification and real restore exercises
  • Incident ownership, escalation, postmortems and improvement tracking
  • Contracted response windows, support hours, RTO and RPO
  • 24/7 only with confirmed staffing and explicitly contracted coverage

DELIVERABLES

What you receive

Deliverables follow the diagnosis, repair or maintenance scope. Agree acceptance before work starts.

Findings & scope

Known issues, feasible next steps, dependencies, cost and exclusions.

Changes & verification

What changed, which business paths were checked and what still needs attention.

Operating & rollback notes

Scoped configuration, recovery steps and operating notes; restore exercises are agreed explicitly.

Maintenance & ownership

For ongoing work, covered systems, hours, support windows, contacts and escalation paths.

A clear record from diagnosis to verification

Findings determine the next step. Changes stay within the agreed access and scope.

  1. Diagnose & scope

Review symptoms, logs, versions and dependencies. Record risks, feasibility and acceptance checks.

  2. Change & document

Implement the repair or maintenance in the agreed window, keeping configuration changes, backups and rollback steps.

  3. Verify & hand over

Verify affected business paths and record results, unresolved issues and follow-up ownership.

SUPPORT AGREEMENT

Support windows, ownership and acceptance

Response time and resolution are separate

An initial response acknowledges the issue and starts assessment. Resolution depends on the cause, access, backups and third parties; timing is assessed after diagnosis, separately from response targets.

Coverage & scope

Hours, service windows and exclusions are agreed explicitly. Legacy reconstruction, new landing pages and new features are separately scoped development. 24/7 coverage is available only with confirmed staffing and contractual scope.

ACCEPTANCE

Agree what completion means

  • Agree covered systems, authorized access, change windows and acceptance checks before starting.
  • Verify repairs against the affected business paths and record unresolved issues.
  • Restore exercises record usable data, outcomes and limits; successful recovery cannot be guaranteed in advance.
  • Email work checks authentication, logs and test results; inbox placement is not guaranteed.

BEFORE WE START

A few practical questions

Can you help with just one issue?

Yes. Start with a scoped diagnosis, then assess the repair from the findings. If access, source code or the environment prevents further work, we explain the limits and next steps.

Can you take over a system another team built?

We can assess it first. We review the stack, source and deployment access, dependencies, documentation and backups before accepting a support scope.

How are cost and support hours agreed?

We quote against the environment, scope, maintenance frequency and staffing. Ongoing support has agreed hours and priorities; it does not include unlimited tasks or default round-the-clock coverage.

Already a customer and need aftercare?

For an existing project, use the support contact and channel agreed in your contract or handover, and include the project name and symptoms. For a new system takeover or added coverage, use the inquiry link on this page.
