Multi-region cluster management

Manage server clusters across locations

Manage orchestration, GitOps configuration, identity, public access, observability and recovery across regions. Build and hand over the platform, or arrange managed operation within an agreed scope.

BUILT AROUND THE WORK

When this service fits

When environments across locations are maintained separately

Review servers, workloads, access requirements and current maintenance arrangements at each location. Agree management scope and recovery requirements.

  • Sites are managed separately
  • Configuration drifts between environments
  • Alerts and recovery have no clear owner

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES & SCOPE

What the engineering covers

Choose methods to fit your existing equipment, systems and project requirements.

Cluster orchestration & configuration

Organize workloads and changes through a common management approach while preserving the boundaries each environment requires.

  • K3s cluster setup, workload placement and capacity planning
  • Flux GitOps, declarative configuration and automatic convergence
  • Environment separation, change review and configuration history

Access, observability & recovery

Operate the platform as a service with clear entry points, measurable health and a rehearsed recovery process.

  • Unified identity with Zitadel or the customer’s OIDC provider
  • Public entry points and metrics, logs and distributed traces
  • Cross-site backup, restore exercises and operating runbooks

DELIVERABLES

What you receive

Agree the deliverables and acceptance criteria before work starts.

Cluster & environment baseline

Agreed clusters, environment inventory, access boundaries and ownership map.

Configuration & delivery assets

Versioned configuration, deployment definitions, change procedures and handover material.

Operational visibility

Service dashboards, alert responsibilities and investigation guidance.

Recovery evidence & support plan

Restore exercise results, known limits and a build-transfer or managed-service agreement.

Implementation and handover

Review the working result at each stage before agreeing further work.

  1. Review each environment

Map servers, applications, identities and network constraints. Agree management scope, capacity and acceptance requirements.

  2. Configure and review operations

Set up orchestration, GitOps, access and observability in stages. Demonstrate representative workloads and review operating results.

  3. Exercise recovery and transfer

Record backup, recovery and acceptance results. Deliver operating materials and agree maintenance ownership and later expansion decisions.

DEPLOYMENT & HANDOVER

Deployment, handover and ongoing responsibilities

Private delivery and existing identities

Deliver into the agreed customer environment, with AD / LDAP / OIDC integration where required. Define data migration, staged transition and any external-service dependencies before implementation.

Source-level assets and independent operation

For development work, hand over source, dependencies, deployment configuration, CI/CD definitions, interface/data documentation and operating guides. Usage, redevelopment rights and independent-build acceptance are agreed in the contract.

ACCEPTANCE

Agree what completion means

  • A reviewed configuration change reaches the intended environment and can be traced to its approval.
  • Agreed identities can access their services; out-of-scope access is denied.
  • A representative service produces observable health and actionable alerts.
  • An agreed restore exercise recovers usable data and service operation.
Discuss your acceptance criteria

BEFORE WE START

A few practical questions

Can you take over existing servers?

Yes. We first review operating systems, connectivity, capacity, application dependencies and maintenance windows, then scope integration, migration or rebuilding. Acceptance includes restore exercises and access handover; managed coverage and response hours are agreed separately.

How are cost, timing and performance targets agreed?

Review the existing environment and representative tasks first. Then agree milestones, expected scale, acceptance criteria and exclusions. Cost, timing and performance targets depend on that scope and the test conditions.
